Cancer is not a single entity, but collection of a multitude of disease processes, unique in their sites of origin, rates of growth, patterns of spread and their final outcomes. Abnormal and uncontrolled growth is the only thing they all have in common.
Cancer often begins in a single cell that gets transformed in a step-wise manner, by various environmental and genetic influences. Smoking, pan chewing, consumption of alcohol, unhealthy dietary practices, obesity and lack of exercise have all been implicated in this sequential transformation of our normal cells into cancer cells. Contrary to popular misconceptions, heredity has a relatively minor role to play in these developments. Cancer is never contagious too.
Cancer is eminently curable, if detected early enough and adequately treated in time. But we have to go a long way to achieve this dream, as statistics say that nearly two thirds of all cancers in India are detected in advanced and often incurable stages.

Dr. M. I. Sahadulla is a Kerala based Internal Medicine Specialist and a Healthcare Management expert by profession. He was a member of the faculty of General Medicine in the Medical College, Kerala Government, worked in the National Health Services, UK and also had training in the best Medical Centres in the United States. He has 25 years of experience in Saudi Aramco (Arabian American Oil Company) Hospitals in various capacities such as physician, internist and administrator through which he has gained rich experience in American standards of Healthcare, Quality and Accreditation.
Dr. M. I. Sahadulla is the Founder Chairman & Managing Director of KIMSHEALTH Management Limited (KIMSHEALTH Group), a Public Limited Company formed in 1995 with a vision to establish a healthcare institution with a difference, adopting the best of global quality standards. His experience in the healthcare sector ranges over an impressive 40 years, spanning across several countries such as India, UK, Saudi Arabia, USA and other countries of the Middle East.
Today, KIMSHEALTH is a renowned brand of high-quality and cost-effective healthcare in India and the GCC countries i.e Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Dubai with 17 projects, comprising of multi-specialty hospitals, cancer centres and polyclinics, within the last 14 years. Dr. M.I Sahadulla is an active member of the National Health Review Committee constituted by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) & Indian Healthcare Foundation (IHCF). He is also the President of the Association of Advanced Specialty Healthcare Institutions (AASHI), Kerala. He is the founder member of the Healthcare Sector Skill Council and also Board Advisor to Hemas Group of Hospitals, Sri Lanka.
