Cancer Run 2020

Cancer Run 2020 is a mini-marathon (5 kms) that included people from various organizations and different walks of life to show their support to cancer patients and to spread awareness among the public. An official flag-off was done at Manaveeyam Road, Trivandrum on Feb 01, 2020 (Saturday) at 6.00 am by Mr. Sreekumar – Mayor of Trivandrum in presence of Dr. M I Sahadulla – CMD of KIMS Healthcare Group and Mrs. Reshmi Aysha – COO, KIMS Cancer Center and other dignitaries. 500 + participants attended this program.

You Are Not Alone…

This is part of a noble gesture to educate the public about the social stigmas associated with cancer. Temporary hair loss is associated with certain types of cancer drugs. This phase of treatment usually is very depressive for the patients. They shun themselves away from social life since they feel that their baldness brands them as a cancer patient. Through this program, we intend to make baldness a style statement and not something to detest. Around 45 KIMS family members expressed their solidarity to cancer patients through this program to emphasize the fact that such patients are not alone in their fight against cancer. The event conducted on World Cancer Day (04th Feb) at KIMS Cancer Center.
